- Mixed wood pellets are made from a variety of wood materials such as rice husks, sawdust, shavings, and agricultural residues. - Thanks to their 75% fiber content, they ignite easily, burn cleanly without producing smoke, and give off a pleasant natural scent. - These eco-friendly pellets provide long-lasting combustion, making them a top choice for businesses using biomass boilers.

What are mixed wood pellets?

- Mixed wood pellets are a type of high-calorific biomass fuel produced from a combination of sawdust, wood waste, shavings, rice husks, peanut shells, and other agricultural byproducts.

- These raw materials are compressed under high pressure and extruded through mold holes to form hard cylindrical pellets.

- During compression, natural lignin in the wood binds the particles together, resulting in a smooth, solid pellet.

So that you can better understand this "hot" biomass source, we introduce some basic characteristics of sawdust pellets as follows:

- Pellet diameter: From 6 -12 mm, depending on each production line, usually 8mm at most.

- Pellet length: From 10 - 50mm.

- Moisture: Max 8%.

- Recovered ash content: < 1.5%.

- Caloric content: From 4200 - 4800 Kcal/kg.

Mixed wood pellets have a fairly high efficiency, below is an image that we compare the energy of pellets with other fuel sources:

But in that, the investment cost for 1 mixed wood pellets have a fairly high efficiency, below is an image that we compare the energy of pellets with other fuel sources: is only 58% compared to 453.35 L of oil, and 67% compared to 643.52 L of Propane, only 30 - 50% compared to electricity and Gas. For example, you buy a 12kg gas cylinder for 500,000 VND. But if you use wood pellets, the amount of money you spend is only 150,000 - 200,000 VND, you can create the same amount of heat as using 12kg of Gas.

Applications in agricultural production

Mixed wood pellets have good moisture absorption capacity, so they are used in chicken, pig, goat farms, etc. to deodorize and clean barns quite effectively. Therefore, this material becomes a biological tool in farms using new technology. In addition, the pellets combined with animal manure create a very good source of organic fertilizer for the crop industry. From there, the amount of inorganic fertilizers that are harmful to the soil and the environment is significantly reduced.

Use heating

Fireplaces using mixed wood pellets have a fairly high efficiency, below is an image that we compare the energy of pellets with other fuel sources: will create a warm and safe heat source. Using wood pellets for fireplaces will limit the amount of ash, smoke and dust, save labor and ensure health safety.

Applications in industry and civil.

A simple and most obvious example is in companies and factories that use boilers to generate heat for production such as steel production, weaving, dyeing, steaming, drying wood, etc. If you use coal or DO oil as fuel, it will be extremely destructive to the environment, polluting the air with the amount of dust and CO emissions.

But if you use mixed wood pellets as biomass fuel to burn the boiler. Then all environmental problems are solved by almost 90%, even if the amount of ash from the burned coal you have to pay for processing, and the ash from the burned pellets is also sold back to agriculture as fertilizer. Moreover, the cost of pellet raw materials is much lower than coal or DO oil as calculated above.

Some examples of industries using mixed wood pellets are:

  • Industrial laundries, garment factories.
  • Providing heat for steaming, drying, sterilization, and disinfection systems in food processing companies.
  • Wood drying factories, animal feed drying factories.
  • Providing heat for sauna systems, hot water tanks in residential areas.
